Product Overview
The CGS Tool 1018 is a 1/2” diameter 4-flute solid carbide square end mill built specifically for heavy roughing and slot milling where material removal rate matters more than anything else. It belongs to the Beast Series, CGS Tool's dedicated roughing line, and it's aimed at shops running tough alloys where a standard end mill would bog down or chip out fast.
What sets this tool apart is the exclusive chip breaker design ground into the flutes. Instead of pulling long, heat-loaded ribbons of material, the chip breaker geometry snaps chips into smaller segments as they form, which cuts spindle load and lets you push feed rates well past what a conventional 4-flute tool could handle. Paired with a variable helix to fight chatter, the 1018 holds up through steels, stainless, cast iron, titanium, superalloys, Inconel, and select non-ferrous materials without losing its edge.
