Product Overview
The CGS Tool 2548-S has a 5/8” diameter, 2-flute solid carbide square end mill. It is engineered for high-speed machining of aluminum copper brass plastics composites and other non-ferrous materials . As part of the high-performance 2500 Series Ferocious, the tool is built to push material removal rates as far as possible, while also bringing really nice surface finishes and long tool life when you’re running tough CNC milling work.
Made from premium solid carbide, the 2548-S brings CGS Tool’s own 55° high helix geometry into play, which helps with chip evacuation, lowers cutting pressures and keeps the whole cut smoother than you’d expect. Then there’s a premium ZrN (Zirconium Nitride) coating added, that helps prevent material adhesion, reduces built-up edge, and boosts wear resistance. It’s especially effective for aluminum, and a lot of other non-ferrous metals too. With this design machinists can run aggressive feed rates and high spindle speeds, without giving up precision or reliability .
