Product Overview
Working through 1/4" cuts in steel or a tougher alloy? The HV140-2500 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill from CGS Tool's Hi-Velocity (HV) Series, and it's set up for shops that need one tool to handle both the rough pass and the finish pass without a swap in between.
The variable helix and variable index flute layout is the real story here. By offsetting the flute spacing instead of keeping it uniform, CGS Tool breaks up the harmonic vibration that usually shows up at higher RPM, so you get a quieter cut and a cleaner wall finish. The ALTiN coating rounds it out, holding up under heat so the edge stays sharp longer even when you're pushing feed rates in steels, stainless, or hardened material.
