Product Overview
The CGS Tool HV240-1252 has a 1/8” diameter, 4-flute solid carbide square end mill, made for high-performance machining, especially in steels and other alloys. It’s sort of part of the Hi-Velocity (HV) Series, and it gives you this really strong combination of speed, rigidity, and fine accuracy for both roughing plus finishing.
Built from premium micro-grain carbide, the HV240-1252 features a variable-helix and variable-index geometry. On top of that, it has an ALTiN coating, which greatly improves heat resistance and overall tool life at higher RPM. The free-cutting configuration really helps with surface finish and chip removal, and it also helps reduce vibration and wear, so machinists can push feeds & speeds further without losing accuracy, or at least not as much as you’d expect.
